Stuart Wilson joined the National Industry Skills Committee (NISC) at its inception in May 2006.
Stuart has spent a lifetime in the building industry in Tasmania, with national interests in the Housing Industry Association, he has a passion for training and succession of trades in the industry.
As the co-founder of Wilson Homes in 1988, one of Tasmania’s leading residential home building companies, Stuart attributes the company success to “Providing Affordable Quality Housing for Tasmanians”.
Stuart commenced in the industry at the age of 16 as an apprentice Carpenter and Joiner. He was quickly elevated to an administrative position and subsequently through the ranks to management. It was inevitable that in 1989 he started his own company which today offers employment both directly and indirectly to over 220 Tasmanians. He has represented the Tasmanian Industry on numerous committees, boards and organisations. He is committed to ensuring that skills shortages into the future are totally address to encourage more Australians into the industry.
Stuart is also a National Board Member of the Housing Industry Association, Chairman of Training and Professional Development National HIA Committee and a Life Member – Housing Industry Association.
