Roger Leeming
Chairman
Tycab Industries

Roger Leeming joined the National Industry Skills Committee at its inception in May 2006.
After 26 years with Pilkington in Europe, largely in the automotive glazing area, Roger came to Australia in November 1995. He assumed overall responsibility for the Australasian operations in June 1997.
A proud Yorkshire man, Roger was born in Leeds in 1947, attending schools there prior to gaining a Master of Arts qualification from the University of Cambridge in 1969. This was an honours degree in Natural Sciences, majoring in Materials Science.
Roger’s career with Pilkington, prior to joining Australian operations, was varied and encompassed roles in Research and Development, Production Control, and senior Manufacturing. This experience culminated in a position with responsibility for manufacturing in all of the European automotive products plants, and coordination of manufacturing improvements and cooperation worldwide.
Roger was most recently President Building Products Australasia and Country Manager Australasia. He held responsibility for all Australasian Pilkington operations in the Building Products and Automotive markets. Pilkington Australasia currently has a turnover of around $400 million (Aus) and employs approximately 1800 people.
Until late-2006, Roger also sat on the Executive of a number of industry bodies, and was the national President of the Australian Glass and Glazing Association, and President of the Australian Industry Group in Victoria. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
Since moving to Australia, Roger and his wife, Julie, have developed a passion for golf, which seems to be enduring despite the regular humiliating defeats inflicted by her.
Roger and Julie became Australian citizens in 2004. He retired from Pilkington on 31st March 2006.
